About the event

Could one wrong course choice hurt your college application?

How many APs are enough? How do weighted, unweighted, and UC GPA actually work? Why do some students coast through 9th and 10th grade, then get crushed in 11th grade when the SAT, activities, and the hardest courses all hit at once? Every year, families take detours on course selection that could have been avoided.

In this seminar, Ruoying (Frances), Han Education CEO and Principal Consultant and ex-UPenn interviewer, will cover:

  • Why more APs is not always better: how to choose courses based on personal strengths without hurting GPA

  • GPA rules explained: weighted, unweighted, and UC GPA in one session

  • Four-year course planning: working backwards from the intended major, with sample pathways for CS, engineering, business, and biomedical
