ED2 Results: Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Every Outcome

With ED2 results arriving in mid-to-late February, rational decision-making is more crucial than emotional reactions. Regardless of the outcome, follow this SOP to manage your application strategy:

👏If Accepted

• Confirm Enrollment: Log in to your portal immediately to check admission details, focusing on the Enrollment Deposit amount and deadline.

• Withdraw Other Applications: Per the binding ED agreement and academic integrity, you must withdraw all submitted RD applications via portal or email within 24 hours.

• Follow Up on Next Steps: Monitor onboarding emails for student account activation, housing registration timelines, and requirements for submitting your Final Transcript.

🙌If Deferred

• Understand the Logic: A "Defer" means you are qualified, but admissions needs to compare you against the broader RD pool, considering your mid-year report or additional updates.

• Submit a LOCI (Letter of Continued Interest): Aim to send this within 1–2 weeks. Keep it objective: 1) Reiterate your commitment to the school; 2) Provide updated GPA or test scores; 3) Briefly highlight new achievements in academics, competitions, or leadership since your ED2 submission.

💪If Rejected

• Audit Your RD List: Immediately evaluate the balance of your remaining RD schools. If your list is too "top-heavy" (e.g., only T30s), use the final window to add 1–2 safety or match schools that are still accepting applications.

• Review Application Materials: Check submitted RD essays for logical gaps. Use upcoming interviews or remaining supplemental materials to refine your profile and ensure the quality of your final rounds.
